This happens because the two devices don’t share the same IP address.

Ring doorbell not connecting to wifi
If you are having problems with your ring doorbell not connecting to your WiFi network, check if the following steps have been done correctly. 1 Make sure that the power cord is plugged into the wall outlet. 2 Make sure that the wireless router is turned on. 3 Check if the wireless router is connected to the internet. 4 Make sure that the range extender is properly installed. 5 Make sure that the signal strength indicator is explaining green light. 6 Make sure that the ring doorbell is within the range of the wireless router. 7 Make sure that the connection between the ring doorbell and the wireless router is secure. 8 Make sure that the password of the wireless router is correct. 9 Make sure that the security setting of the wireless router is set to WPA2 PSK. 10 Make sure that the firewall is disabled. 11 Make sure that the port forwarding is enabled.

Make sure that the power cord of the ring doorbell is plugged into the wall socket.
Ring bell is not connecting to the ring app

Connect Device of the ring manually
1 Make sure that the phone line is properly connected to the modem/router. 2 Check if the router is configured correctly.
If you see the following message "Connecting to the network" please wait until the connection is established. Please check if the network name is correct. If you still cannot connect to the internet, please contact our customer service team.

Why will my Ring Doorbell not connecting to Wi-Fi?

How do I reset my Ring Doorbell Wi-Fi?
To change the wifi on your Ring Doorbell, press the button located on the side of the doorbell unit. This will open the app on your phone and allow you to select the wifi network you wish to connect to. Once connected, you will be prompted to enter your password. After entering your password, you will be given the option to save your new connection.
