You don’t have to worry because it’s a very simple thing and I am going to tell you how to do that in some simple steps.

Things to gather

  • One screwdriver
  • Detergent dispenser module
  • 1 Torx head screwdriver (No. 15)
  • Dishwasher dispenser detergent spring

Step by step instructions

Step 1: Turn off the dishwasher

The first thing that you are required to do is to turn the dishwasher off and unplug it because safety is the primary concern while fixing any electrical appliances and you are no professional or expert so make sure that it is turned off.

For this, you can unplug it and try to switch on the dishwasher so that you can cross-check whether you’ve properly switched off the dishwasher so that you do not come in direct contact with any live wires.

Step 2: Remove the control panel and door panel

In the second step, you need to detach the control panel and also the door panel. You need to open the door of the dishwasher and then take the number 15 screwdriver and start removing all the number 15 Torx head screws.

Once you are done removing all the Torx head screws using the number 15 Torx head screwdriver, you need to shut the door. Now slowly try pulling the front panel from the door of your dishwasher. This will uncover the backside of the door panel of the dishwasher.

Step 3: Removing the Dispenser

Now it’s time to remove the dispenser and first you need to make sure that all the insulating materials at the backside are removed so that the spring can be seen. This spring is connected to the actuator arm.

If the spring has diverged, you will have to connect it again or in case if it is damaged. This can, however, only be done in dishwashers that were produced before 2006. You won’t see this spring if you use the latest model or models that were constructed after 2005. If you’ve got a dishwasher that is the latest one then the whole dispenser module has to be located and replaced.

Now you need to slowly pull the wire that is a connector from the backside of the dispenser module. Now you need to use a screwdriver so that you can remove all the screws that are connected to the dispenser module bracket. After this, you will be able to see the interior door panel. You will have to take out the dispenser bracket and open the door of the dishwasher so that you will be able to remove the dispenser module from the door panel.

Step 4: Installation of New dispenser

You need to attach the new dispenser in this step. The new dispenser bracket module is to be attached to the door panel and the dishwasher door is to be closed once this is done.

Also, make sure that the screws that you removed should be put back and they are properly tightened so that they can hold the bracket in one place.

Step 5: Put the control panel and door panel in their place

In this step, you will have to connect the wire connector to the modular dispenser. After that, you have to replace the Torx head screw from the interior panel of the dishwasher.

Once you are done with replacing the screws you will have to connect the dishwasher to the power socket. Try to test the dishwasher and see if it’s working properly. This will make sure your repair has been successful by rigorously testing the machine.
