Different Types of Microwaves

There are many types of microwave ovens, but for the purposes of this article, they are divided into two types: convection ovens and microwave ovens.

A brief history of microwave ovens

Microwave ovens Percy Spencer, an American naval engineer since 1966, discovered that water could move water molecules in milk at incredible speeds using electricity. He first tested the microwaves with a microwave generator called a magnetron. In 1976, General Electric launched the first commercial microwave oven to heat and cook canned food.

Features of microwave ovens

Microwaves are non-ionizing radiation, meaning they don’t have enough energy to break molecular bonds or chemical bonds. They are actually electromagnetic waves with a frequency of 2.45 GHz.

Convection is a form of heat that occurs when hot gas or liquid molecules expand and move to different places. Convection occurs when heat is introduced into an enclosed space in one direction and then rotates the liquid in the other direction. As a result, only some parts of the hot material are hotter than others.

There are many types of microwave ovens on the market today.

1. Separate microwave oven:

Microwave oven for use alone. This is very convenient as there are no grills or turntables and it is the cheapest type of microwave oven widely available. Usually it is low power (up to 700 watts) and the turntable does not spin as fast as other ovens.

2. Microwave oven for grilling:

A barbecue and grill house on a turntable and a turntable for cooking. Typically, houses have two openings, one for food and one for ventilation. The grill rotates slowly to ensure even cooking for a long time.

3. Convection microwaves:

The microwave oven cooks food by circulating hot air in the home to cook faster than other ovens. It is intended for use with a turntable. 4. Three-wave microwave oven (TWM):

A type of microwave oven that uses two microwaves, one in the center and one in each corner of the oven. The main advantage of this type is that it can be used as an oven or refrigerator. Another advantage is that it has its own turntable, so that no other equipment is needed to prepare food for cooking.

5. Counter:

The microwave oven is built into the kitchen wall. The table top has a microwave turntable and is placed on the table top. This type of microwave oven is very popular because it is convenient and easy to use without detailed configuration.

6. Above the limit:

Stove built into the kitchen wall above the gas or electric pan. It has a turntable and is often equipped with a hood that is used for extractors. It can be difficult to use because it is placed too high above the ground to be reached.

7. Built-in microwave oven:

Microwave oven built into the cupboard. This type of microwave oven has a convection function and can be freestanding or with a hinged door. It is used to prepare food for consumption. This type of microwave oven is usually more expensive than the other types because it cannot be used to cook food in the oven.

8. Wall stove:

Microwave oven mounted above the cooker hood. It is equipped with a turntable and a hood as it usually requires ventilation. It is generally larger and requires more countertop space than the other types and is more expensive.

Microwaves are very beneficial to us because unlike the sun or other heat sources that generally heat things up, they use heat to heat things selectively. They are used in many ways, from cooking food and freezing frozen foods to deactivating bombs.
