While their high-profile lives may make it appear as though they have it all, celebrities are no different than the rest of us regarding love and relationships. When a marriage ends, it can be tough to navigate the emotional fallout and move on to the next chapter in life. But, as many celebrities have shown, surviving a divorce and thriving in the aftermath is possible.
Reese Witherspoon – Then
After meeting fellow actor Ryan Philipe on her 21st birthday, Reese Witherspoon and Phillips were married in Charleston in 1999. Witherspoon admitted that she married at a young age, revealing that she was only 21 when she wed Ryan.
Their marriage produced two children; however, they separated in October 2006. It seems the problem was their young age. It can happen when people get together too early in life. The marriage also deteriorated as Reese’s fame outpaced her husband’s.
Reese Witherspoon – Now
A small ceremony was held to celebrate Witherspoon’s marriage in 2011 to talent agent Jim Toth. The pair celebrated their seventh anniversary, to which Witherspoon stated that Toth is the man who is the reason she keeps smiling every day. There’s no doubt this woman is in a better place.
She has produced and starred in several successful projects, including the HBO series Big Little Lies. Also, she has launched a successful book club and media company, Hello Sunshine. She and talent agent Jim Toth had a son a year after getting married.
